How windy box kite needs to fly?
I built a house for school and have the kite flying on Friday. He will not fly now, because we have low wind speed. On Friday the wind speed is assumed to be 10 MPH. I worry that will not fly. Any suggestions on how it can fly better?
Everything depends on the material and the angle of attack. Is your trailer set point? BTW towing point is where Flight line attaches to the butt. The easiest way to make a point of attachment of the trailer is to put a cap double overhand knot at the end of the flight line and Lark line then head to fly to the curb. For help we http://www.animatedknots.com/stopper/index.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com 10 mph is usually enough for any comet. The key is to make clear the wind, stay away from trees or other obstacles. When you put the wing to be done several things 1. It can go hand in hand violently, usually does not happen a lot with box kites. This is an indication of the coupling point is a bit too high. 2. The kite rises then scoot back to the tail end of the first ground, the loss is called half-point tow very low. 3. Kite and glide through the nose, dragging half-point very high. Now wise material, lighter than the kite to the wind which requires less. The quality of navigation is also very important. If you have material that is porous, the wind passes through it and do not generate much lift. I'm assuming you're using wooden pegs for your rig? The switch to bamboo will better flight, but bamboo can be more difficult to obtain.
